"Easter seal"
I thought seeing the primary nameEaster Seals when seeking a therapist would make this choice easier to get my 18 year old daughter assistant. HECK NO! My daughter after 3 weeks has had to go for emergency psychiatric treatment then in-house and I can't get no answers from Lauren Rainey, Warren, Mi. I now realize these folks are quacks and when I get my daughter back to herself, I will try and take legal action!

"No responses, ever!"
For a therapist who lists having availability to not even bother to respond to emails, and repeatedly so, has me hugely question if they even care or if it is just for the fat paycheck. It is beyond frustrating to write to several and get ZERO responses. I should amend that, last time I had one No and one Maybe that then also died. Absolutely DISGUSTING! You so-called "professionals" should be ashamed of yourselves and be removed from the site. Oh, wait --- then there would not BE any site...

The one therapist we were with for quite some time and were well established with dropped us cold turkey because "he had overbooked himself. " No warning, just "bye."

"WARNING"
Don't trust what you read. Personally know a "councilor" listed on the site claiming to have 10 years experience. I don't think going to rehab counts towards being a councilor. And half her nursing career, she's been on meth. So be careful people!

"Beware"
Exploitative, uncommunicative organisation.
The anti-thesis of therapy.
Beware.

"How do I leave a review about a…"
How do I leave a review about a psychologist my partner and I had in through this company?
There is nowhere to leave a review. There has been no follow up or anything. Wanted to find out how to leave a review as when you talk to a therapist, you are seeking to get help and when the help is not forthcoming, if will leave you in a more compromised and vulnerable position. Any help/ direction would be greatly appreciated.

"Therapist perspective: Take your business elsewhere"
I'm a provider listed on Psychology Today. Their customer service is the worst I have ever experienced. They don't provide any way for clinicians to provide feedback or make suggestions about the platform, and when I contacted them with a complaint, their customer service reps actually ghosted me. I wasn't asking for Psychology Today to immediately change their platform to meet my expectations, I was simply asking for my feedback to be acknowledged and for assurance that it reached the desk of someone in management. In this post-pandemic era, many therapists are licensed in multiple states in order to provide teletherapy to patients across the country. Psych Today requires clinicians to create multiple accounts and separately pay for each account if we want to show up in search results for more than two states! This is a bad faith move and an enormous financial burden on small business owners, in addition to a sign that the company is hopelessly out of touch with the professional needs of contemporary therapists. Behind the scenes, this company is unprofessional and clearly doesn't prioritize the clinicians or patients it claims to serve. There are plenty of other sites that connect therapists with clients, and with service like this, Psychology Today will become gradually less relevant to therapists until it finally goes out of business.

"Absolutely disgusting and…"
Absolutely disgusting and discriminatory articles about certain mental health conditions which are already marginalised and shamed on a daily basis resulting in suicides and ostracisation. Shame on this supposedly "credible" source.

"Regularly gives a platform to sexist and ableist writers and their garbage ideas."
Title says it, this site constantly hosts the opinions of people who really should be using the service to heal deep seated biases (though maybe a real therapist could help) instead of allowing them to spew their mutated reality onto unsuspecting others who are just trying to navigate difficult life situations.

"Unreliable Provider Portrayals: Reviews by real patients (found elsewhere) much more Accurate"
A misleading publication. Providers are represented only as the glowing description they write themselves and as "endorsed" (for many) by colleagues appearing to be classmates. No patient reviews. No proven track records. Be sure to check other review sites (even if only Yelp or Google). It is not uncommon for glowing 'Psychology Today' reviews to be in stark contrast to what real world patients have to say.

Impossible to contact the customer service, the website doesn't work. I subscribed to the magazine in November and still nothing... I am cancelling my subscription. Extremely poor experience and I feel robbed.

"Psychology Today Knowingly Lying on Directory Website"
Today I went to contact one of the therapists listed as available and after writing a whole summary and expecting to hear back from that therapist, the office contacted me that she is unavailable but they have many other therapists she could set me up with. After asking several questions, the office basically admitted to me that they are falsely listing this very experienced therapist on Psychology Today as available but using a "bait and switch" technique to offer other less experienced therapists to clients as options.

When I contacted Psychology Today about the lies that were being posted on their website, I was shocked to get an email back from Charlie Scholtz saying that Psychology Today doesn't care. They only care if the therapists aren't who they say they are or if a therapist is legally not allowed to practice. So in other words, if they can't get in trouble for it, Psychology Today would be happy to knowingly print lies about therapists' availability on their website, even if those particular therapists list they are available when they are not. This causes hours and hours of clients calling and "being rejected" by therapists who were never available to begin with, as well as unending search time for people who should be getting more immediate care. This practice is very unethical.

Psychology Today is participating in sham behavior.

"Communication Poor"
As a Therapist I have used this site and receive SOME clients. Though not many. My biggest frustration is regarding communication with this company. Though as a Therapist listed, magazine subscriptions are supposed to be complimentary. Have had a profile on this site since October and have yet to get the magazines delivered to my requested address YET I have received 2 bills asking for payment of the subscription. When I call to speak to a live person; I have to leave all my info along with my email. No phone calls EVER returned. The email reply told me how much it was monthly to list my profile and get a complimentary subscription! HELLO: I am a listed Therapist already and noted that and did not get an answer to where is my free magazine after 3 months and why are they billing me. I'm assuming the phone message wasn't heard correctly. LOOK UP THE PROFILE before responding to your customers!
So frustrated with this as well as lack of activity I may switch my profile to an alternate site!

"A disastrous experience with Oliver Jarvis not what he seems"
I was advised by a psychologist to process the experience i had been subjected to by a previous therapist, who I had seen for a bereavement, who he had declared a charlatan (and who was sanctioned for breach of trust by his member organisation). I was suffering from nightmares and intrusive thoughts and my family relations had been badly affected as a result. Hence I found Oliver who seemed genuine and qualified. At first he seemed genuine and compassionate but a few months in he changed his attitude towards me completely and started gaslighting me instead, that is: telling me that past events were just “feelings” rather than actual events, inconsistent and disorientating session, failing to inspire trust when I needed it the most, scaring me instead by saying he might do what the last therapist did: gang up against me, agree with him, that I'd be even more alone and not believed.... this without any reassurances. Then he started mimicking the last therapist’s agenda and false narrative out of the blue.... He harassed me about his political agenda when he knew I wasn't well and couldn't cope with stress, blamed me for taking two month-long breaks for essential reasons when he had no breaks policy or contract - and this was after a year had passed, despite my telling him I had never heard of that. All of which led up to an unexpected and nasty “last session” by him where it became clear he had been incited by the previous therapist to punish me. The trauma triggered my heart problem and I ended up in hospital. The whole experience stank of misogyny, exploitation, and abuse. I was especially vulnerable as i had a disability. There is no real confidentiality - they can tell their supervisors, their therapists, and their partners – whoever they are – about your personal business – and there is nothing stopping them contacting previous therapists behind your back. Beware all therapists, grill them first about their views and approach and WHY they want to be therapists. The field is strewn with land mines, and some of them shouldn't be practicing.

"A lot of dud therapists on this website... beware... beware..."
I found several therapists here who turned out to be duds... One I had to report to his member org. For breach of contract... but Oliver Jarvis beats most with his fake compassion, inconsistent disorientating sessions, failing to inspire trust when I needed it the most, blaming me for taking breaks when he had no policy or contract - and this was after a year had passed, scaring me by saying he might do what the last therapist did (bullying/malpractice) without any reassurance that he wouldn't, resurrecting false narratives from the last therapist which had no basis in fact and had been contradicted by the NHS and other more senior professionals, harassing me about his political agenda when he knew I wasn't well and couldn't cope with such stress, all of which appeared to be leading up to an unexpected, unceremonious, and nasty termination of contract by him for which he showed no remorse whatsoever.
People beware, of all therapists on this website. Grill them first via email or a first session...

I feel so blessed again in my marriage after Doctor Olu brought back my husband that separated with me for good 3 months. Even though I have mouths all over my body, it won't be enough to thank Doctor Olu for his help in my life. My husband separated with me for 3 months and has been in pain and agony without him. So, I searched for help everywhere but nothing worked out not until I meant Doctor Olu who I contacted online. I explained my situation to him and he promised that my husband will get back to me within 72 hours so that my heart still beats for him. I believed in him and he prepared a spell for me and my husband called me exactly when Doctor Olu said. He pleaded and said he needs me back and now we are living happily again for the past 9 months. Everyone out there reading my article that needs help should contact him...
